Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC) announces:

Open Call for New York City Artists:
6-Month Residency in Paris

At the Cité Internationale Des Arts, Paris, France
Sponsored by the Mairie de Paris/Mayor’s Office of the City of Paris

Deadline for All Application Materials:
Thursday, February 21, 2008 by 5pm

Residency Dates (6 consecutive months):
September 2008-February 2009

LMCC and the Mayor’s Office of the City of Paris, in collaboration with the Cultural Services Department at the French Embassy in New York, are partnering once again to provide one New York City artist with the opportunity to live and work at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, France. LMCC is currently inviting artists to submit applications for this special residency. One artist will be selected to be in residence for 6 consecutive months, from September 2008 – February 2009.

This program is open to emerging and mid-career American artists who are U.S. citizens and New York City residents. Artists can apply in the following fields: Visual Arts, Photography, Film/Video, Multimedia.

The deadline for applications to the LMCC’s Paris residency program is 5 PM THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 2008.
Applications will be accepted starting Thursday, January 10, 2008.

Attend an Info Session where staff will review the application guidelines and answer questions about the application and selection process. Space is limited so please RSVP to Residency Manager, Melissa Levin at parisapp@lmcc.net by 11AM on Tuesday, February 5, 2008.

2. Send or drop off your mail-in materials to LMCC’s office adhering exactly to the instructions in the Open Call.

Do not begin the application until you have read it entirely and are prepared to complete all fields. We strongly recommend that you complete your answers in a separate document offline and copy and paste your final responses into the online fields.

Your application will not be complete until you have submitted both the Online Application and the mail-in materials. Your application will only be considered if it is complete and adheres to all guidelines. PLEASE DO NOT CALL OR EMAIL TO INQUIRE ABOUT RESULTS. All applicants will be notified via email about their application status in April 2008. Late applications will be returned to sender.
