Heraty Law clients are TEARING IT UP


Tonight, September 7th! Discovery’s Science Channel is running a “PopSci’s Future Of…” marathon. The show is hosted by Heraty Law client Baratunde Thurston.

In NYC, the marathon runs from 6PM-11PM and includes the Security, Superhumans, Games, Combat, and Sex episodes. If you have Time-Warner cable in NYC, the Science Channel is 111. If you’re not in NYC, check the local listings in your beautiful part of the world.

On September 10th and 11th, from 11am – 7pm, Heraty Law clients Loyale and Andrea Brueckner are having a sample sale at 307 W. 38th Street #1412, 14th fl (38th St at 8th Ave in NYC). There will be lovely women’s + girl’s organic cotton clothing from Loyale and stylish leather (and python!) hand bags from Andrea Brueckner, all at exceptionally reduced prices. Want to get your ass kicked by a Rat City Rollergirl? Or at least say you did? Then this fundraiser is for you.

As a supporter, you will be the envy of your worldplace, of the road, of the whole darn city! They will mail you your swag and you can strut your stuff into the office with your “I Got My Ass Kicked” tee shirt – watch people squirm with envy!

Funds will be used to buy a new skating floor and help them travel across the country to compete for total derby domination. In addition, portions of the funds will go to helping the next generation of roller girls, the Seattle Derby Brats!

The Renegade Craft Fair will take place in Chicago on September 12th + 13th from 11am – 7pm, on Division St. between Damen + Hermitage.

Ride your bike and take advantage of the free bike valet service located near the corner of Division + Winchester.

Over 300 artists are traveling from all over the country to participate and sell their handmade goods, from clothing and accessories, to stationery and concert posters, with everything from bath-products, ceramics and housewares in between.

Playing their way through the Craft Fair on Sunday at 1pm will be the brass and reed ensemble Black Bear Combo, delivering what’s sure to be a blast of a set.

Other event features include free raffles of various craft publications from Chronicle Books + copies of Faythe Levine’s book Handmade Nation at the Renegade Craft Welcome Stations, free copies of TimeOut Chicago at various booths, and food and beverages for purchase from MANA Food Bar and Big Bite Catering! Beer and wine will also be available for purchase.

If you’re not in Chicago this weekend, no worries… Just keep your eyes peeled for their events in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

September 26th – it’s time for The Queens of Pain to take on the sailorettes of the Brooklyn Bombshells in the next Gotham Girls Roller Derby battle! Doors at 6:30, opening whistle at 8:30 @ Hunter College Sportsplex, Lexington Ave at 68th Street. Subway: #6 train to 68th Street. Buy tix here or at the door.

This is the last regular bout of the season - next up is the post-season Regionals in October and the National Championship tournament in November.
